The Wally Gonzalez Band

This hyper-active band staging powerful renditions of what could be called eternal music of the 60's and 70's has surely made a noticeable following. From its maiden performance 3 years ago, it has continued to awe fans of today's generation and those that has been with Wally Gonzalez way back during the Flower Generation. It can be recalled that Wally momentarily retired from the music scene due to family business endeavors. His hibernation of 10 years from playing guitar in the limelight made his comeback almost a myth.

Today, Wally Gonzalez is still at his best playing Eric Clapton originals, Rolling Stones, the Doors, and his signature instrumental Wally's Blues and other Juan Dela Cruz originals. Minus Pepe Smith and Mike Hanopol, Wally found his new home with this new band composed of talented musicians in their own right.

Playing the keyboard is Norman Ferrer, whose gift in music was sharpened even more by finishing AB Music in UST's Conservatory of Music. He is a professional pianist in most 5 Star hotels in Manila, participated in International Jazz Festivals, played side by side with Willie Bobo, Freddie Hubbard, Billy Childs, Justo Almario, Alfonso Johnson and Harvey Mason. He was also once the guitarist of renowned music master, Eddie Katindig's Take 1 band. Aside from being a high profile pianist, he can also play all rhythm instruments with grace and justice.

Wally Gonzalez is indeed so proud to have Dondi Ledesma as his Bassist. Despite the long list of accolades he has received locally and internationally, he remains to be the humble Ilocano guy everyone knows. He has produced and participated in almost 23 albums that showcased his innate talent that continues to inspire bass fanatics from all walks of life.
